Upon waking

Upon waking
the truth looms over me
as willow branches
all around,
wrapping me in a cradle
of space and shade.
You stand as the centered trunk extending and flexing your branches, wrapping me up but never holding me .

Orbs of light
sneak through to tease
me in my waking,
lighting the leaves into
some ephemeral green
love song. I can see the outline of the fiery sphere shining gold illuminating me, yet never warming me.

There is nowhere for me to go but this never ending circumference around your strength.

All that I can do is
wait for a storm
to shake you free of me,
a wind to send me from
your arms.
